SheaMoisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque REVIEW

Packaging: This Shea Moisture jar is the BEST looking to me! the gold lid and overall jar really caught my eye.

Size: 12oz which is the general Shea Moisture jar size. I used it 5 times and I still had half left so a little goes a long way.

Smell: At first I thought this smelled AMAZING and then as I applied it to my hair, it became too overpowering! It smells like REALLY strong perfume. The smell lingers after your hair dries also. I would not recommend for people who are sensitive to smells.

Price: $11.99

Availability: this product line of Manuka honey and Mafura oil is only at TARGET

Texture: This product was not as thick as I thought it would be. It was runny but it had little slip which made it hard to detangle after shampooing.

ingredients: water, cetyl alcohol, coconut oil, behentrimonium methosulfate, shea butter, vegetable glycerin, stearyl alcohol, behentrimonium chloride, panthenol, mafura seed oil, honey, hydrolyzed rice protein, fragrance (essential oil blend), baobab seed oil, cetrimonium chloride, avocado oil, fig extract, mango seed butter, tocopherol, aloe leaf extract, caprylhydroxamic acid, caprylyl glycol, butylene glycol

The ingredients are great, although the main 3 ingredients aren’t top of the list.

OVERALL: The first time I used this , I thought it was OKAY.I applied it to freshly washed hair and put a plastic bag over my head and a scarf. As i washed it off, My hair felt soft but after i got out the shower, it was so dry!  I have tried the Deep Treatment Masque from Shea Moisture also and did NOT like it at all. It gave me really bad build up and my hair was like hay. I used it a second time and it also gave me a build up type of feeling on my hair. I have fine, low porosity hair that gets weighed down easily. This product was not for me. I used it as a leave in and it was better. I still didn’t have that HOLY GRAIL moment with this. I love Shea Moisture products so I had high expectations for this. Each person’s hair is different so if you really want to try this, go ahead. I didn’t like this deep conditioner because it just sat on my hair. I was one of the few who didn’t fall in love with this.
