Hair Purity is a simple and specializes in natural & organic hair products. I received two sample size products to review and these products are pretty affordable!
Hair Oil:
Price & Size: $6 for a 4oz (you only need a little so it’s an awesome price!)
Packaging: This is a normal open top with a screw off top. I personally don’t like the packaging and would much prefer to be in a pump of some sort.
Texture: This is not a lightweight oil and it’s not a super heavy oil. I believe it’s in between.
Smell: I’m going to be completely honest, the smell of this is horrible. It smells like tea tree oil and cough syrup. The smell doesn’t linger for long, though.
Ingredients: Pure and Organic Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Peppermint Oil, Rosemary Oil, and Chamomile Oil
I L-O-V-E how simple the ingredients are and I can actually read the ingredients label!
Overall: I tried figuring out how I can use this because I didn’t want it to weigh my hair down. My scalp has been super itchy and dry lately so I used this oil as a scalp massage. It soothed my scalp instantly and I noticed a difference in my dry &itchy scalp. The ingredients contain great oils for scalp and I believe it can aid in hair growth. I will continue to use this on my scalp and a little goes a long way. This oil is also a great pre-poo!
RATING: 9/10 (1 point off for the weird smell)
Moisture Butter:
Price & Size: $9.50 for an 8oz.
Packaging: This butter was in a jar which is easy to scoop out.
Texture:
This was so grainy & hard. It was not creamy or buttery at all. I absolutely did not like how it felt and it was too thick. I don’t know if I got a bad batch but it was not a “butter”.
Smell: This has that same weird smell as the hair oil but it was a stronger smell.
Ingredients:100% Organic Unrefined Shea Butter, Grapeseed Oil, Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Lavender Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Myrrh Oil, and Chamomile Oil
(Shea Butter is the number one ingredient and it’s too heavy for my hair)
Overall: When I first received this, it was hard and I couldn’t even scoop it out. I thought it was because of the shipping and it being out in the cold but even when I put the jar in a bowl of hot water, it didn’t get buttery & creamy. I used it to seal my hair and it was too heavy! I hated the smell. Since I couldn’t really scoop it out, I decided to just run my fingers on top of the hard butter and use it to moisturize my dry 3rd day hair. Using it on dry hair as a balm of some sort helped moisturize my hair.
RATING: 2/10
Thank you so much for the review. The temperatures are extremely cold here and I did not realize that the products were arriving in a hardened state. A notification has been put up on the website to notify customers of the effect the temperature has on the products and what they should do to get the products back to a normal state. Thank you again and have a great day!
